We use our service provider portraits to introduce our sponsors in Marketplace Universe in more detail. Today, we are telling you more about the ERP provider Base (sponsored).
Who is Base?
Anyone who sells across multiple channels is familiar with the challenges this entails: Managing product data, product descriptions, inventory, logistics and returns is a highly complex task. Base offers a holistic platform that helps companies optimize operations and reduce costs through automation, as well as expand their sales to new channels. Base’s mission is simple yet ambitious: Become the global No. 1 SaaS operating system for multi-channel e-commerce businesses.
Who is behind Base?
Base, originally founded as BaseLinker, was established 18 years ago in Wrocław, Poland by Sewer Skrzypiński, who continues to lead the company as CEO. Marek Kośnik serves as the Board Member and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). General Manager DACH is Timo Gerken. In addition to its headquarters in Wrocław, Base operates in 11 other countries, including Germany, the United States, Brazil, China, and the United Kingdom, employing a global team of more than 415 people.
What does Base offer?
Base provides a SaaS platform aimed at helping eCommerce businesses optimize their operations. The platform enables businesses to:
- Automate processes: Such as order management, stock handling, and fulfillment.
- Centralize omnichannel sales: Manage multiple marketplaces, B2B, and B2C channels from a single point.
- Integrate with other systems: Including ERP solutions, for real-time data synchronization and better inventory control.
Key milestones in Base’s history
Key milestones in Base’s history include its transformation from a marketplace integration tool into a full-fledged multi-channel commerce operating system. This shift enabled the company to support complex eCommerce operations across a wide range of sales and fulfillment channels. A major turning point came with the international expansion beyond Poland in 2021 – a footprint that has grown to over 11 global locations by 2025. Another significant achievement is the rapid customer growth: from 1,000 customers in 2018 managing €10 million GMV, to over 30,000 customers in 2025 handling €400 million+ monthly GMV.
Their USP?
Base distinguishes itself through three core characteristics:
- The platform enables significantly shorter time-to-market compared to other providers, allowing businesses to go live and scale more quickly.
- With over 1,500 integrations and a wide range of native commerce management functions – including WMS, PIM, and OMS – it offers an unusually broad functional scope.
- Base is designed for scalability and operational clarity: the full feature set is available out of the box, without the need for separate modules or complex pricing structures.
