Products of Western sports and fashion brands such as Adidas, Puma, Ray Ban, Nike or Guess have appeared on the marketplace of Shein. Some of the affected brands have already announced legal steps.
Otto has lost over 1.100 seller partners on its marketplace since April 2024, the German business newspaper “Handelsblatt” reports. Nearly 700 sellers were fired from the marketplace by Otto, round about 500 sellers have left the platform on their own account due to frustration over raised fees, technical problems and high return rates.
Amazon eases the export to countries without a specific Amazon Store with the new Export Central, which is part of Amazon’s EU Export programm. With it, sellers can enable international shipping settings to 39 European countries with just a few clicks.
Last year, Amazon Germany’s retail media sales shot through the roof again. In 2023, the company generated sales of 2.9 billion euros – 20 percent more than in the previous year and already 10 percent of Amazon Germany’s total sales.

Youtube and Shopify cooperate – against TikTok Shop: U.S. based Shopify Plus and Advanced merchants can now sign up for YouTube’s affiliate programm directly on Shopify. Creators can then tag their products and link to their Shopify shop.
This has been a long time coming: In March, Temu first invited sellers to their US platform, moving slightly away from their factory-to-consumer model to tentativley open towards a more traditional marketplace model. From then on, US based sellers can list their products on Temu, sending orders from their own warehouses. Now, Temu has brought this new approach to Europe.

In the past financial year, sales already amounted to 137 million euros. In the current quarter, marketplace sales more than doubled.
