PDD misses estimates, Temu responds with local infrastructure
PDD Holdings
, parent company of Pinduoduo and Temu, missed market expectations in the second quarter: revenue rose 8% to $15.7bn but fell short of the analyst estimate of around $16.26bn. Net income fell 12% to around $3.80bn, weighed down by intensifying competition in China as well as US tariffs, the loss of duty-free treatment, and new EU small-parcel fees. Marks & Spencer
 is extending its logistics partnership with ZEOS, Zalando’s B2B fulfillment division, to 22 European markets – newly including France, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain. Amazon tests fully automated delivery stations
With “Project Tetromino,” Amazon is working on delivery stations where AI and robots also take over sorting and loading packages – initial pilots are planned for as early as 2028 under an internal plan, initially in the US.
